It is probable that each one of us, regardless of the type of activity, felt a so-called creative crisis. Especially now, when the thermometer shows far beyond +30, it is very difficult to force yourself to do anything productive. And especially if it concerns creativity. But even if it seems that all creative forces have left, you should not immediately succumb to despair.

There is nothing worse for a photographer than a camera gathering dust on a shelf. Sometimes it happens that there is an idea, but it is simply impossible to start working on the realization. And sometimes different thoughts come to mind:

-what do I need it for? Nothing will come out of this…

In fact, even the best photographers, the greatest craftsmen, the greatest artists ask themselves such questions. The main thing is not to let them extinguish the flame of creativity that once shined bright inside them. But how to do it?

One of the best ways to rekindle your interest in photography is to try something you haven’t done before. Do you love portraits? Try shooting landscapes or still lifes. Do you like black and white pictures? Why not experiment with color? Hate selfies? Try to do something that you like.

The possibilities are practically endless. Even if you are not a professional photographer, even if you do not have a camera. Take your phone and, without leaving home, try to photograph a banal thing from a new interesting angle, and you will be surprised. After a week of such “warm-up” of creativity, you are guaranteed to feel new creative forces.

But you shouldn’t stop there. You can try developing in yourself possibly the most important quality of any artist – discipline.

Various challenges, i.e. challenges to oneself, help very well with this.

We can offer the following:

  • During the week, shoot only objects of the same color every day
  • Repeat 10 works of your favorite photographer as similarly as possible
  • Shoot a catalog of your favorite dishes and drinks, as if for the menu of an expensive restaurant
  • Take a selfie every day for a month, and never repeat yourself
  • Photograph 5 locations at different times of the day
  • Take photos from the Dutch angle every day

Everything suggested above can be changed as you wish, there are no rules.

Having completed one or several, or even all the challenges, you will not only feel the influx of creative forces, but also discover something unexpected and new in your photos.

The main thing is to never stop in your creative pursuits, and to not let any crisis take away your desire to create. Remember, sometimes you have to fight for creativity, but it’s worth it.
